Are you worried about a potential pregnancy? Did you receive a negative pregnancy test result, but you still think you’re pregnant?

To be sure of your pregnancy test results, take another pregnancy test about a week later. To better understand the testing process and test results, take a test with a medical professional.

At Life Choices, we offer free pregnancy tests and can help you understand your results.

When to Take Another Pregnancy Test

Home pregnancy tests claim to be 99% accurate after your missed period. However, if your periods aren’t regular, try taking a pregnancy test by counting 36 days from the start of your last period or four weeks since you had sex. This timing should give you a rough estimate of when you can receive an accurate result.

Know that one day can mean the difference between receiving a negative or positive result. If you have missed a period and you still receive a negative result you believe should be positive, wait one week later to take another pregnancy test or contact your healthcare provider.

The Time of Day Matters

The best time to take a pregnancy test is first thing in the morning. If possible, try to wait until it’s been a couple of hours since your last urination before you take a pregnancy test.
