When Do I Take a Pregnancy Test?
The Mayo Clinic recommends taking a pregnancy test at least one day after your missed period for the most accurate results. At this point, your body has had time to produce the right amount of hCG hormone to show up accurately on a test.
Follow-Up With An Ultrasound
Once you’ve received a positive pregnancy test at our clinic, we offer free ultrasounds as well.
An ultrasound confirms viability (whether there is a heartbeat and it’s progressing), the location of the pregnancy (if the pregnancy is growing within the uterus), and how far along you are. An ultrasound will also alert you to any potential pregnancy complications.
